Breckenridge, CO / by Walls Trimble

One of the best parts of living in New York City is how spacious everywhere else feels by comparison--even in a small town like Breckenridge, the possibilities felt endless. I was so lucky to spend a week with my family in Colorado, soaking up tall pines and rafting the Arkansas River (on the lowest water level in 47 years!). Our trip coincided with the Breckenridge International Festival of the Arts, which led me to yoga on the lawn, hiking to hear musicians in the woods, and exploring Thomas Dambo's giant troll.

A quick tip if you're planning a trip near 9600 ft of elevation: spend a night or two in a lower spot to begin (Denver is easy), and your body will have a better chance of acclimating to the altitude.
